For each new school year, students joining one of the extra-curricular sports teams will be required to renew their commitment as a student athlete. Athletes will receive a paper version to be agreed to and signed by the parent/guardian and themselves. Please ensure the contract is returned to the Athletic Director before the first game. The specific expectations and consequences to infractions can be reviewed below.

Expectations

  • You are a student first and an athlete second.
  • If teachers are not satisfied that you are working to your potential, you may be removed from participating until improvement is shown.

● Any player who has missed classes during the day will not compete in evening activities, with the exception of players absent due to medical appointments.

  • Show good behaviour towards school staff and other students.
  • Demonstrate cooperation, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Follow the guidelines to activities provided by KVMS and ASD-W.
  • Commit to all practices and competitions. If this is an issue, be sure to communicate with the coach.
  • Take care of all team fees (speak with Athletic Director if needed).
  • Display good behaviour towards coaches, teammates, game officials, and opponents.
  • Applaud good plays by our team and the opponents.
  • Take good care of uniform and equipment given for player use.
  • At the last competition of the season return the uniform to the coach. A fee can be charged and/or participation in another activity withheld if the uniform is not returned.
  • Parents/Guardians must make the transportation arrangements for travelling to and from practices and games. Be sure to write a note to the office if the drive is picking you up from school.

Remember, as an athlete, you are representing yourself and Keswick Valley Memorial School. Your conduct and sportsmanship should always reflect on you and the school in the best possible way. Coaches are expected to remove players who cannot demonstrate a high level of sportsmanship.

Infractions

Removal of next game scheduled but athlete must attend practices.

Removal of two games but athlete must attend practices.

Student will not play the rest of the season.
